French antique silk and gilt brocade fragment (115 x 50cm)

The peach coloured silk must have once been part of an ecclesiastical chasuble. The sophisticated technique employs silk thread, gilded thread and silk chenille  The handwoven linen lining is the original and contemporary to the piece.
